And they cast lots for every gate, the small as well as the great, according to the house of their fathers.
And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.
They cast lots, the small (younger) and great (older) alike, in accordance with their fathers’ households, for every gate.
And they cast lots by fathers’ houses, small and great alike, for every gate.
¶ And they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for every gate.
They cast lots for each temple gate according to their ancestral families, young and old alike.
They cast lots for each gate in the same way, whether their household was small or large.
Great or small, they cast lots according to their clans for every gate.
Each group, no matter how large or small, was assigned a gate to guard, and they let the Lord show them what he wanted done.
And they cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers' houses, for every gate.
And they cast lots equally, both little and great, by their families for every one of the gates.
Each family was given a gate to guard. Lots were thrown to choose a gate for a family. Young and old were treated the same.
They used lots to decide which family group would be the guards for each gate of the temple. They chose the jobs for everyone in the same way, important people and ordinary people.

And they cast lots, small and great alike, by their fathers’ houses, for their gates.
They were assigned guard duty at the various gates without regard to the reputation of their families, for it was all done by coin-toss.
These teams of security guards, supervised by their leaders, kept order in The Temple of God, keeping up the traditions of their ancestors. They were all assigned to their posts by the same method regardless of the prominence of their families—each picked his gate assignment from a hat. Shelemiah was assigned to the East Gate; his son Zechariah, a shrewd counselor, got the North Gate. Obed-Edom got the South Gate; and his sons pulled duty at the storehouse. Shuppim and Hosah were posted to the West Gate and the Shalleketh Gate on the high road. The guards stood shoulder to shoulder: six Levites per day on the east, four per day on the north and on the south, and two at a time at the storehouse. At the open court to the west, four guards were posted on the road and two at the court.
They cast lots, small and great alike, according to their fathers’ houses, gate by gate.
They drew lots by families, youngest and oldest alike, for every gate.
They cast lots for each gate, small and large families alike.
They cast lots, the small and the great alike, according to their fathers’ households, for every gate.

and they cast lots by fathers’ houses, small and great alike, for their gates.
So they cast lots, small and great alike, by clans for each gate.
Like the other divisions, the weak and the mighty, the students and the teachers, used a system of lots to determine which gates they would guard according to their family lineage.
They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.
Therefore lots were sent, or cast, evenly, both to the little and to the great, by their families, into each of the gates. (And so they all cast lots, both the lesser and the greater alike, by their families, for each of the gates.)
and they cause to fall lots, as well the small as the great, according to the house of their fathers, for gate and gate.
